RIP Staccato

The neighbor's horse, Staccato, and his friends, often escaped their corral and dined on the grass right outside my studio. I loved to watch them and hear them. I gave the neighbor this little picture of him as I heard he had to be put down. He lived to be 27. I was a little embarrassed as I came to find out this is not Staccato but another one of their horses. Oh well, I gave them the picture
anyway. I  hope they'll get a chuckle out of the story.

Doodled and filtered

Had fun in Deb's class today. We doodled. I have no problem letting the paint go where it wants. Came home and ran a couple of the pieces through the filters.

New Pathway

Been taking lessons from a master watercolorist, Marge. Love her. We're working on creating path pictures. Here's my first new practice piece.

Order from chaos

Had a wonderful Mindfulness group yesterday. Deb's topic was 'chaos/order'. I painted a few versions of my take on that. I found it more challenging to paint the chaos part. When I got home I took photos then ran them thru the edit program. Not every picture benefits from the filtering. Interesting

Creative Block-color less

Been feeling blocked...so I painted some blocks of color. Still feeling unfulfilled- so I turned them into black and white. Better

Me--Open Minded

Yesterday's mindfulness class structure was about drawing something in different ways. We chose an object and changed the way we drew it each time. I used myself as the subject and chose 'Open -minded' from a Deb-deck of suggestions. Here's what emerged.

Ouchee illustrated

Found a photo app that does all kinds of neat things. Here's a painting from last nite of what I imagined was happening in my leg. Effects added.

The power of doodling

Had a really rough day yesterday. Really didn't feel very creative. I knew I didn't have the wherewithall to paint a picture. So I doodled with paint. I find it very soothing to brush paint on paper. Circles fell mindless and comforting. Regardless of the result, I feel better.
