A simple drawing?

A simple drawing?
This is an experiment on the first day of my blog.

My friend, Deb, suggested making a 'simple drawing' each day and posting it. I thought a bit about what would constitute a 'simple drawing' but my thinking became complicated and so did my drawing. I got lost in the tree branches, trying to make sense of the tangle. I ended up with a real mess and the drawing got crumpled up and tossed. Twice. The I decided to try again and just to pick out a smaller reference area. I also put on some Brazilian jazz to try to relax. After all, I look to making pictures as something soothing. This final picture did come more easily, though I wouldn't say I'm feeling mellow.
