The Blues

The blues in this piece refers to my mood. Have been feeling somewhat stuck this week. I decided to play around with some stickers and tape. I applied various shapes to the paper. Then I did a wash with Chinese ink. I then removed the maskings and used watercolor to fill in the white areas. I did some imprinting with paper towel for more texture.

Looks like a lot of fun. I enjoy seeing the remains of play.

looks like fun to me too. creatures with eyes and long noses, blurred, soft edged boundaries, spaces and layers of shape and color....like things are in process, or maybe it looks like whats leftover after making something.

To me it looks like fun with process. Like the result of the experiment which you describe in all it's liveliness!

I enjoy the way the watercolors blend into each other and the contrast between the background and the colors. Also the contrast between the relatively hard clear edge of the circles and the fluidity of the watercolor. that is interesting to me.
