Wow- that is a powerful image. It makes me smile. I feels very bright, energetic and positive. Maybe you see it differently, but just want to share what I see.
I want to comment on how different this is from many of your self-portraits - although not different from recent ones. What strikes me as well is the background - how you left those light/white spaces at the lower left and on the right side instead of covering the page with color. This, to me, is very effective. I love it. It relates to the face - the mood or feeling in the face so the background and portrait are connected.

I like it, too. I also see it as very positive. She's smiling! Just cause in life I may feel miserable, doesn't mean I really am......
