The Paper Makes the Difference

I've been noticing how the kind of paper I choose for each picture makes a difference in the work.
I'd been using a lot of inexpensive paper. It's 140lb., cold press and it's
got some texture in it. But more often now, I'm using a better brand, and the paint is not absorbed as readily. I'm also using larger paper again. It really makes a difference in my posture, the way I hold the brush, and the subject matter. I don't always have the energy to paint small and with great detail, on a paper about 5X8.
