For me, when I’m in flow; when I paint with a sure hand, when I just take delight in the process. That is how I would describe a piece as ‘free and easy’, which is this week’s blog prompt.
While I did enjoy painting this path to the beach, I struggled with it and as a result, it looks dark and heavy. I may try it again, now that I learned a thing or two.

I like seeing the beach look "dark and heavy"- it's not what I would expect and I like that. It would be interesting to see what your next drawing of the path looks like.
I am not sure if I have been "free and easy" lately or if I have ever been that way about making art. I know I am the one who offered the prompt and maybe I did it to put my mind in that direction although after thinking about it, it's probably better for me to get comfortable with the unease rather than wishing for ease or thinking that it should even be that way. Just a thought....
